Deliverables: Brand, Product & Creative Direction
Founded as Little Korboose in 2008, Korboose is April Nemeth’s independent product brand creating original textiles, ceramics, art, and objects for the home.
April has built and operated Korboose while directing its design, product development, commercial direction, and production system.
An Original Product System
Every collection begins with April’s original drawings, patterns, forms, or material studies. She develops the working prototypes and production standards, then carries the design through packaging, photography, presentation, and market introduction.
From Prototype Through Production
Some pieces are made or finished by April in the studio. Others are produced to Korboose specifications by specialist manufacturing and production partners selected for textile printing, sewing, ceramics, woodworking, weaving, and finishing.
April directs development and production from concept through delivery, including sampling, specifications, costing, partner selection and training, quality review, and coordination across the production network.
Commercial Development
Korboose has operated across direct sales, wholesale, national retail, trade, hospitality, and licensing. Its production model supports one-of-a-kind work, intentionally limited projects, continuing collections, and larger commercial orders according to category.
Selected relationships have included a decade-long retail relationship with West Elm, an installation of Korboose ceramic planters in guest rooms at the InterContinental hotel at Cleveland Clinic, and licensing agreements with Concrete Collaborative and Toki Mats.
The Relationship to The Studio
The Studio and Korboose have always operated together. Korboose is The Studio’s in-house brand and an independent commercial product business with its own product world, design language, customer relationships, and commercial value.
