Excited to share more new work from our creative project on Whidbey Island. Staying in the Lodge, the original stone fireplace is the focal point of the common area at The Captain Whidbey Inn. More than 100 years old, sitting beside it takes you back in time.

It’s a bright morning and Summer is in full effect✨ If I’m late for anything and you’re wondering why, staring at or taking photos with natural light is the reason 99% of the time. I guess I’m on the natural light schedule? PRO TIP: Put pencil tile detail in every bathroom, forever. Amen.

Love the morning light in the front room. Makes the wall hanging pop 💥 I have about x40 photos of the same vignette from over the years at different times of the day and morning is always the best.
On the subject of wall hangings: Lots of people write and ask how to hang Little Korboose wall tapestries. There a few fancy methods but my preferred method is something super simple, nails or or t-pins as shown. It looks more natural to me that way and preserves the authenticity of the piece. Natural, preserved, authentic... just a few of my favorite things. 🖤

Birthday Magic ✨July 15th, 5:52am, I was given the gift of life.

I was fortunate enough to be born into a free wheeling, creative and expressive family of pure LOVE. One in which both parents wanted me so badly they still tell me my birth story any time I ask, with moon eyes and proud smiles. Their love has always gone way beyond the doors of my childhood home and into the lives of those less fortunate helping me understand the kind of work to be done while we are ALIVE on this Earth.

On top of love, I gained an understanding about respect for all things, most importantly myself. Life is about creating yourself, not living up to expectations or truths created by another human. It is for LIVING and living inspired. We are all given gifts and it is our responsibility to use them.

So today on my birthday, I am smiling ear to ear feeling grateful. I don’t know what I did to deserve this life of love the Universe bestowed upon me, but I plan on living it to the fullest. 📷: favorite portrait of me taken by @peterjlarson. He’s in it too if you look close.

Meanwhile back at the ranch... ✨ the universe gave me the gift of epic natural light the evening before my birthday so I naturally had to photograph it 🙏 also freshly picked oranges 🍊 juicing them all tonight.
